THE CITY OF 9 <br /> !:;21CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON <br /> December 21 , 2021 <br /> Human Resources <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING COMPENSATION FOR <br /> TEMPORARY/SEASONAL EMPLOYEES AND AMENDING THE <br /> TEMPORARY, PART-TIME/SEASONAL CLASSIFICATION SALARY <br /> STRUCTURE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Compensation for temporary employees is established by the City of Pleasanton and <br /> reflected in the City's publicly posted Temporary, Part-time/Seasonal Classification <br /> Salary Structure. (A copy of the current salary structure is provided as Attachment A.) <br /> Periodically, salaries are studied and adjusted to meet increasing minimum wage <br /> standards and to ensure wages are appropriate to attract and retain qualified <br /> employees to support the various programs and services provided by the City. A recent <br /> compensation study concluded there is a need to increase the hourly pay of several <br /> classifications. Staff is recommending wage adjustments as provided in Attachment B. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Adopt a resolution approving changes to the Temporary, Part-time/Seasonal <br /> Classification Salary Structure as recommended. (Attachment C) <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> This recommendation is estimated to cost $158,000 per year. The estimated cost in <br /> fiscal year 2021/22 is $79,000 and will be incorporated in the midyear updates to the <br /> City's budget. <br />
