Public Comment regarding items not listed on the agenda <br /> Leslie Jones thanked the City Council for listening to residents' concerns over the State legislature <br /> encroaching on local control of land usage. She decried the adverse effects of Senate Bill 9 on <br /> communities. She reported a petition is circulating Statewide to get an amendment on next year's <br /> ballot. She reported resolutions are being distributed requesting local City Councils oppose the <br /> legislation usurping their local planning control. She urged the City Council to take an official position in <br /> opposition to SB 9. <br /> Linda Harmeson expressed concerns about SB 9 and 10 leaving residents with little to no say over <br /> what happens in their neighborhoods. She reported a ballot initiative has been developed to give cities <br /> the power to override state land use and zoning laws.
