WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 04-044 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE CREATION OF THE <br /> VALLEY CHILDREN'S MUSEUM <br /> <br />Pleasanton is a vital economic and residential community whose <br />residents desire amenities close to home that address educational, <br />cultural and recreational needs; and <br /> <br />local cultural institutions benefitting our children's healthy <br />development are especially desirable and will contribute to the <br />region's strength; and <br /> <br />the Pleasanton City Council supports the concept of creating the Valley <br />Children's Museum which will provide exhibits and educational <br />programs to stimulate learning, inspire creativity, encourage <br />confidence, promote self-awareness and build healthy relationships; <br />contribute to the economic vitality of the community by attracting <br />visitors to the area; and provide curriculum-based education programs <br />to supplement classroom education. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br />Section 2: <br />Section 3: <br /> <br />The City Council conceptually supports the creation of the Valley <br />Children's Museum. <br /> <br />Directs staff to forward a copy of this Resolution to the Valley <br />Children's Museum Board of Directors. <br /> <br />This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage <br />and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
