CITY OF PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES September 30, 2021 This meeting was conducted in accordance with Governor Newsom's Executive Order N-25-20 COVID-19 pandemic protocols. 1. Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance Mayor Brown called the teleconferenced joint special meeting of the Pleasanton City Council and Pleasanton Unified School District Board of Trustees to order at the hour of 6:00 p.m. Board President Laursen led the Pledge of Allegiance. 2. Roll Call Present: Councilmembers Arkin, Balch, Narum, Testa, Mayor Brown Board Trustees Carreon, Maher, Miller, Mokashi, Bhayani, President Laursen Absent: None 3. Public Comment — None. 4. Discussion regarding the Student Resource Officer Program and Draft Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Pleasanton and Pleasanton Unified School District Police Chief David Swing and Assistant Superintendent Ed Diolazo presented the item. Public comment was received from Devansh Pandey, Vaneesha Dave, Angela Holmes, Saheli Thakkar, Matt Maciel, Christine Lutz, Holly Fletcher, and John Bauer. Members of the City Council and Board of Trustees provided comments and questions regarding the program and elements of the draft memorandum. 5. School District Point in Time Enrollment Update Assistant Superintendent Ed Diolazo presented the item. Members of the City Council and Board of Trustees provided comments and questions. a.
