CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO o 524 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1967 <br /> EDITION, PROVIDING COMPLETE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE INSTALLATION <br /> AND MAINTENANCE OF HEATING, VENTILATING, COMFORT COOLING, <br /> AND REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS IN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON; PROVIDING <br /> PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, REPEALING ORDINANCE <br /> NO o 303 AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice has been duly given and published, and hear- <br />ings held pursuant to the provisions of Section 50022.1, Govern- <br />ment Code of the State of California, and no sufficient protest <br />having been made, and the 'best interest of the City of Pleasanton <br />appearing to be served by adoption of this Uniform Mechanical <br />Code; <br /> <br /> NOW~ THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: ADOPTION OF UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE. There is <br />hereby adopted by the City of Pleasanton that certain code known <br />as the 1967 Edition, Uniform Mechanical Code, more particularly <br />described 'below, except such portions as are hereinafter amended, <br />modified or deleted, and the same is hereby adopted and incorpor- <br />ated as fully as if set out at length herein, and the same shall <br />become in full force and effect at the time this Ordinance becomes <br />effective. <br /> Said Uniform Mechanical Code is the 1967 Edition, copy- <br />righted by International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical <br />Officials, a certified copy of which is on file with the City <br />Clerk of the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: AMENDMENTS~ MODIFICATIONS~ ADDITIONS TO AND <br />DELETIONS FROM THE ADOPTED CODE. <br /> The Adopted Code is hereby changed in the following <br />respects: <br /> a. Amendments or Modifications. <br /> (1) Wherever in the Adopted Code the words Building <br /> Official are used, they shall mean the Director of <br /> Public Works of the City of Pleasanton or his agent <br /> as defined in Section 3 of this Ordinance. <br /> <br /> (2) Section 303(a) is amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 304(a) Mechanical Permit Fees. A fee for <br /> each mechanical permit shall be paid to the City <br /> prior to issuance of the permit° Such fee shall be <br /> in the amount set forth in a fee schedule adopted by <br /> resolution of the City Council. Such fee shall be <br /> doubled where work for which a permit is required <br /> by this Code is started or proceeded with prior to <br /> obtaining said permit. The payment of such double <br /> fee shall not relieve any persons from fully comply- <br /> ing with the requirements of this Code in the execu- <br /> tion of the work nor from any other penalties pre- <br /> scribed by Ordinance." <br /> <br /> - 1 - <br /> <br /> <br />
