HOr GU It I-COULOrc- i IFUZI <br />THE CITY OF <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />PLEASANTON. <br />Wo <br />November 2, 2021 <br />Human Resources <br />TITLE: ADOPT PROPOSED MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AND THE PLEASANTON <br />CITY EMPLOYEES' ASSOC IATION/AFSCME LOCAL 955 WITH TERM <br />ENDING MARCH 31, 2025 <br />SUMMARY <br />The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Pleasanton and the <br />Pleasanton City Employees' Association/AFSCME Local 955 (PCEA) expires on March <br />31, 2022. Representatives from PCEA and the City of Pleasanton met and conferred in <br />good faith and have agreed to a successor agreement. The City's practice is to intro- <br />duce the key elements of the proposed MOU, receive input from the public and allow for <br />open discussion prior to adopting the agreement at the next public meeting. The public <br />input process was conducted at the October 19, 2021 meeting. The final step is for the <br />City Council to approve the successor agreement that expires March 31, 2025. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />That the City Council adopt a resolution approving the tentative agreement negotiated <br />between the City of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton City Employees' <br />Association/AFSCME Local 955. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />The financial impact to the City budget as a result of implementing the successor <br />Memorandum of Understanding is approximately $5.5M through FY 2024/25.
