MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />Pleasanton City Employees Association, AFSCME, Local 955, AFL-CIO, and representatives of <br />the City of Pleasanton, have met and conferred in good faith regarding wages, hours and other <br />terms and conditions of employment of employees in the representation unit specified in Section <br />1, have exchanged freely information, opinions and proposals and have endeavored to reach <br />agreement on all matters relating to the employment conditions and employer-employee relations <br />of such employees. <br />This Memorandum of Understanding is entered into pursuant to the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act <br />(Government Code Section 3500, et seq.) and has been jointly prepared by the parties. <br />This Memorandum of Understanding shall be presented to the City Council as the joint <br />recommendations of the undersigned for salary and employee benefit adjustments for the period <br />commencing Apfil 1, 2019April 1, 2022 and ending Mareh 31, ; March 31, 2025. <br />Section 1. Recognition <br />Pleasanton City Employees Association, AFSCME, Local 955, AFL-CIO, hereinafter <br />referred to as the "PCEA/AFSCME LOCAL 955," the Union, is the formally recognized <br />employee organization for the general employees unit comprised of the classifications <br />listed in the attached salary schedule and certified pursuant to the Employer -Employee <br />Relations procedures and Resolution No. 71- 75, adopted by the City of Pleasanton City <br />Council on April 5, 1971. <br />Section 2. Union Security <br />2.1 Dues Deduction <br />A. Bargaining unit employees may voluntarily join PCEA/AFSCME LOCAL 955 <br />and authorize individual payroll deductions for dues, initiation fees, and general <br />assessments, as well as any other membership benefit program sponsored by the <br />PCEA/AFSCME LOCAL 955 (hereinafter collectively "dues deductions"). The <br />PCEA/AFSCME LOCAL 955 shall be responsible for maintaining records of <br />bargaining unit employees who provide written consent to join PCEA/AFSCME <br />LOCAL 955 and authorize dues deductions. The PCEA/AFSCME LOCAL 955 <br />shall certify to the City the identity of such members and the amount of the dues <br />deductions to be withheld from their paychecks. <br />B. The Employer agrees to deduct from the paychecks of each bargaining unit <br />employee who voluntarily authorizes dues deductions as certified by the <br />PCEA/AFSCME LOCAL 955, or pursuant to an authorization form tendered to <br />the Employer by either the PCEA/AFSCME LOCAL 955 or the employee. Any <br />forms tendered to the Employer directly shall have copies provided to the <br />PCEA/AFSCME LOCAL 955 President. <br />M <br />
