6.7 Certification Pay <br />Effective the first full pay period on/after July 1, 2017 (July 1, 2017) employees serving <br />in the classifications of Utilities Systems Operator I, Utilities Systems Operator Il, Lead <br />Utilities Systems Operator and Chief Utilities Systems Operator who obtain and maintain <br />a State of California Grade 2 Water Distribution License will receive 2.5% Certification <br />Pay. <br />Effective the first full pay period on/after July 1, 2017 (July 1, 2017) employees serving <br />in the classifications of Utilities Systems Operator I, Utilities Systems Operator II, Lead <br />Utilities Systems Operator and Chief Utilities Systems Operator who obtain and maintain <br />a State of California Grade 3 Water Distribution License or above will receive an <br />additional 2.5% Certification Pay. <br />Certification Pay will not exceed a total of 5%. <br />Section 7. Hours of Work <br />7.1 Standard Workweek <br />The standard workweek for all full time employees shall consist of five (5) consecutive <br />eight (8) hour work days. <br />7.2 Alternative Workweek <br />Alternate workday or workweek periods may be authorized by the Department Head or <br />City Manager to accommodate temporary business needs such as special scheduled <br />events or projects, or work-related certification testing, that may require work on a <br />weekend or different hours than the standard workweek (see section 7.1 for definition of <br />standard workweek). Depending on the event or project, this could involve: <br />• Altering the workweek to include a workday on Saturday and/or Sunday. In this <br />instance, the employee's alternate day(s) off shall be scheduled at the beginning <br />or end of the employee's remaining workweek, except under circumstances of <br />unusual scheduling, workload, or by mutual agreement with the Department <br />Head, when the day(s) off may be midweek. <br />• Elongating the workday to 9 or 10 hours, and shortening the workweek. <br />Among qualified employees, who shall be afforded equal opportunity, volunteers shall be <br />first solicited for such duty, and three (3) days shall be allowed for this solicitation. <br />Where insufficient volunteers exist after such solicitation, such duty shall be equally <br />distributed among qualified employees, who shall in no case be given less than three (3) <br />weeks' notice of such duty. <br />
