RESOLUTION NO. 21-1243 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> RESTRICTING PARKING ON QUARRY LANE AND SERPENTINE LANE TO PROHIBIT <br /> PARKING OF VEHICLES OVER TWENTY FEET IN LENGTH <br /> WHEREAS, Pleasanton Municipal Code §11.36.180 allows the City Council to prohibit <br /> persons from parking vehicles in excess of twenty (20) feet in length on streets or portions <br /> thereof designated by the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code §22507 permits cities to restrict the stopping, <br /> parking, or standing of vehicles on certain streets or highways, or portions thereof, during all or <br /> certain hours of the day; and <br /> WHEREAS, a vehicle in excess of twenty (20) feet in length is oversized when compared <br /> to other passenger vehicles, which range in length from mini cars at twelve (12) feet in length <br /> (e.g. a Chevrolet Spark) to sport utility vehicles at eighteen (18) feet in length (e.g. a Chevrolet <br /> Suburban); and <br /> WHEREAS, prohibiting the parking of oversized vehicles on specified streets: maintains <br /> needed street parking for businesses and customers; keeps oversized vehicles and recreational <br /> vehicles from parking at sites without proper water and sanitary connections (and those without <br /> occupants should be parked at recreational vehicle storage sites); and proscribes over-sized <br /> commercial vehicles from storing vehicles on the public roadways. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. Prohibits the parking of vehicles in excess of twenty (20) feet in length on <br /> Quarry Lane and Serpentine Lane for the entirety of the roadways except at the following two <br /> locations: 1) the on street parking area (100 linear feet) directly in front of 1228 Quarry Lane; and <br /> 2) the on street parking area (120 linear feet) directly in front of 1057 Serpentine Lane, and <br /> authorizes the posting of signs giving notice thereof. <br /> SECTION 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br /> adoption. <br /> SECTION 3. City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter it into the <br /> book of original resolutions. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on September 21, 2021. <br /> I, Jocelyn Kwong, Acting City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the <br /> foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on September 21, <br /> 2021 by the following vote: <br />
