THE CITY OF 1 0 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTONo <br /> October 5, 2021 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: APPROVE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH BSK <br /> ASSOCIATES IN THE NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $234,784.45 FOR <br /> THE GEOTECHNICAL STUDY OF THE WEST LAS POSITAS <br /> BOULEVARD RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT, CIP NO. 11514 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Staff is requesting authorization for the City Manager to execute a contract with BSK <br /> Associates to perform a geotechnical investigation and provide geotechnical <br /> recommendations and mitigation options to aid in the design of the roadway <br /> reconstruction of West Las Positas Boulevard between 1-680 and Santa Rita Road. <br /> West Las Positas Boulevard has experienced severe settlement and cracking over the <br /> last 12 years and requires repair and reconstruction. Due to the unique nature of the <br /> settlement, a geotechnical investigation is necessary. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve a professional services agreement with BSK Associates of Livermore, <br /> California, for the geotechnical investigation study services for the West Las Positas <br /> Boulevard Reconstruction Project, CIP No.11514, for a not-to-exceed amount of <br /> $234,784.45. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The geotechnical study and design are budgeted in Fiscal Year 2021-22 with a funding <br /> amount of $1 million. The total construction cost and budget are to be determined upon <br /> completion of the geotechnical study and design of the roadway. <br />
