6/4/2021.
School Resource Officer (SRO) - PUSD Staff Survey
If changes were made to the SRO program, what changes should we consider?
140 responses
None
N/A
none
Not sure
n/a
Maybe make them more visible and make it more clear why they are there. I think the
students think SROs are there to "bust them" and that they're looking for something to
be wrong. I think if it was more clear to students why they're there, and that they can
talk to the SRO for a list of different reasons (not just illegal activity), that might make
it better. In San Ramon, their SROs are much more involved with the daily life of
students (walk around at lunch, brunch, and passing {periods, competing in basketball
tournaments), and the students actually know the SROs names. As a teacher, I don't
even know their name and I struggle to tell students what the SROs do.
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1 FAIpOLSdA6F7thbuyKATwuHaRR5sNCPH3txFyLuPaOsJtsbhlmKQuig/viewanalytirs 7/8
