ORDINANCE NO. 2221 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 9.30 WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN TO <br /> MAKE CHANGES TO CONFORM WITH THE CITY OF PLEASANTON 2020 URBAN <br /> WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN AND WATER SHORTAGE CONTINGENCY PLAN <br /> WHEREAS, California Water Code §§ 10610-10656 and 10608 require water retailers, <br /> such as the City of Pleasanton, to assess the availability and reliability of water supplies, as well <br /> as current and projected water use, to ensure reliable water service under different conditions; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, at its June 1, 2021 meeting, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 21-1221 <br /> to approve the City of Pleasanton 2020 Urban Water Management Plan, Water Shortage <br /> Contingency Plan, and 2015 Urban Water Management Plan Update for Delta Plan Policy; and <br /> WHEREAS, amendments to Municipal Code Chapter 9.30 Water Management Plan are <br /> needed to conform with the recently adopted City of Pleasanton 2020 Urban Water Management <br /> Plan and Water Shortage Contingency Plan. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. Finds that the amendments to Municipal Code Chapter 9.30 Water <br /> Management Plan are exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to <br /> California Water Code §10652 as implementation of the actions pursuant to an urban water <br /> management plan and water shortage contingency plan. <br /> SECTION 2. Adopts the amendments to Municipal Code Chapter 9.30 Water <br /> Management Plan as shown in the attached Exhibit A. <br /> SECTION 3. A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) <br /> days after its adoption in "The Valley Times," a newspaper of general circulation published in the <br /> City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for fifteen (15) days in the City <br /> Clerk's office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. <br /> SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its passage and <br /> adoption. <br /> The foregoing Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the <br /> City of Pleasanton on September 7, 2021, and adopted on September 21, 2021, by the following <br /> vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Arkin, Balch, Narum, Testa, Mayor Brown <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> aria Brown. ayor <br />
