CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO o 509 AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 425 (BICYCLE LICENSES), PROVIDING FOR ISSUANCE EVERY TWO YEARS, AND ADJUSTING LICENSE FEE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 425 is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 2. ISSUANCE. The City, acting through its authorized officers, shall issue upon written applica- tion, bicycle licenses which shall be effective January 1, 1966. Said licenses shall be issued bi- annually for two (2) calendar years, commencing on the first day of January of every other calendar year. When issued, the license shall entitle the licensee to operate such bicycle for which said license has been issued, upon all the streets, alleys and public highways, but not including sidewalks, in the City of Pleasanton." SECTION 2. Section 3 of Ordinance No o 425 is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 3. FEE. The bi-annual license fee to be paid for each bicycle shall be $1.00, and shall be paid in advance. Said license fee shall be pro-rated only on the following basis: The license fee shall be reduced by one-half at the end of the first calendar year with- in the bi-annual period, so that the fee of $1.00 for a two (2) year period shall be reduced to $.50 for the last year in the bi-annual period. Pursuant to Section 4 of this Ordinance such license may be transferred, and a fee of $.25 shall be paid for the registration of such transfer." SECTION 3. This Ordinance, providing for a tax levy for the usual and current expenses of the City, shall take effect immediate ly. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be published in "THE TIMES", a newspaper of general circulation published within the City of Pleasanton.
