DEPARTMENT OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL: The applicant shall obtain all <br /> necessary approvals from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control <br /> (ABC) prior to operation. (project specific condition) <br /> 10. OUTDOOR AREAS: Except for the designated outdoor areas at the front and rear of the <br /> subject site, food and alcohol shall not be consumed outside the establishment. Alcohol <br /> service and consumption in the designated outdoor areas is allowed only upon specific <br /> approval by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) and shall be subject to <br /> all ABC requirements. The applicant shall be responsible for supervising and controlling <br /> the activities of its customers within the designated outdoor areas. The applicant shall <br /> ensure that no disorderly behavior occurs in these designated outdoor areas, that food <br /> and drinks are not taken outside of the designated outdoor areas, and that there are no <br /> more customers in the designated outdoor areas than there are seats. (project specific <br /> condition) <br /> 11. TRAINING FOR INTERVENTION PROCEDURES: Prior to the start of employment, <br /> employees that serve alcohol shall undergo an alcohol training program, such as TIPS <br /> (Training for Intervention Procedures), designed to prevent intoxication, underage <br /> drinking, and drunk driving. (project specific condition) <br /> 12. FOOD SERVICE: The kitchen shall remain open, with at least limited food service <br /> available to patrons, during the operating hours of the business. (project specific <br /> condition) <br /> 13. SMOKING: The business shall comply with Chapter 9.24 (Smoking in Public and Work <br /> Places). The applicant shall provide a designated smoking area including ash/cigarette <br /> receptacle and related directional signage, if deemed necessary by the Director of <br /> Community Development after the business is in operation based on customer demand <br /> and/or complaints received from adjacent property owners/tenants regarding smoking. <br /> (project specific condition) <br /> 14. SECURITY: As deemed necessary, the applicant shall provide security staff to the <br /> satisfaction of the Chief of Police. (project specific condition) <br /> 15. SECURITY PLAN: Prior to establishing operations, the applicant shall provide security <br /> plan to be reviewed and approved by the Chief of Police. The security plan shall include <br /> but not be limited to policies and procedures pertaining to security surveillance including <br /> video retention, identification collection, and security staff. If the operation of this use <br /> results in additional safety concerns, the Chief of Police may request modifications to the <br /> security plan to require additional measures to protect public safety in the future. (project <br /> specific condition) <br /> 16. DOORS: Self-closing door mechanisms shall be installed on all exterior doors.
