Commissioner Morgan stated he looked forward to seeing the site inventory and hoped sites <br /> would be sprinkled throughout the City. Ms. Clark stated the goal of appropriate distribution of <br /> units around the City. <br /> Ms. Clark thanked the Commission for its input and stated the matter would be before the <br /> Housing Commission on May 13, 2021, and then to the City Council on May 18, 2021. <br /> MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW/ACTION/INFORMATION <br /> 6. Selection of Sub-Committee Representatives and Alternates for May — December <br /> 2021 <br /> Ms. Clark provided a brief introduction to the item. <br /> Commissioner Allen discussed her experience on the Heritage Tree Board of Appeals and <br /> Bicycle, Pedestrian and Trails Committee. <br /> Commissioner Gaidos expressed interest in the Heritage Tree Board. <br /> Commissioner Nibert stated he was available to serve. <br /> Commissioner Pace expressed his desire to continue to serve. <br /> Commissioner Morgan volunteered for the Heritage Tree Board of Appeals. <br /> Chair Brown discussed his service on the Bicycle, Pedestrian and Trails Committee and <br /> importance of the Planning Commission member. <br /> Commissioner Morgan stated he would defer to Commissioner Gaidos for the Heritage <br /> Tree Board of Appeals. <br /> Commissioner Allen moved to elect Commissioner Gaidos as the representative <br /> and Commissioner Morgan as the alternate for the Heritage Tree Board of Appeals; <br /> no changes were made to the Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Trails Committee <br /> representative or alternate positions. <br /> Commissioner Nibert seconded the motion. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE: <br /> AYES: Commissioners Allen, Brown, Gaidos, Nibert, and Pace <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> 7. Reports from Meetings Attended (e.g., Committee, Task Force, etc.) <br /> There were no reports from meetings attended. <br /> Planning Commission Minutes Page 6 of 7 May 12, 2021 <br />nd largest businesses to consider funding and <br /> grants for lower income housing. <br /> Chair Brown suggested outreach for sites where there might be zoning changes. <br /> Commissioner Pace suggested consideration of best practices from other communities. <br /> Chair Brown asked staff to clarify the Housing Commission and Planning Commission roles. <br /> Ms. Clark stated the Housing Commission focused more on program pieces, such as tax <br /> credit, federal and state grant programs. Ms. Wise discussed their library of best practices <br /> which would be shared with the Commission. Chair Brown discussed the goal to increase <br /> production of housing. <br /> Chair Brown stated the Communication Plan was good and suggested providing notice of <br /> potential rezoning. <br /> Commissioner Nibert concurred that the Communication Plan was good. He asked about the <br /> need for additional meetings and outreach. Ms. Clark stated there was contingency included in <br /> the budget for increased meetings and outreach. <br /> Commissioner Pace asked the most successful ways to engage the public in prior cycles.
