City staff is currently exploring a cloud based software <br /> program that would aid in the record keeping and reporting requirements. <br /> Implementation Costs. The Draft Action Plan also provides a section regarding staffing <br /> and activity costs. It is <br /> important to note that not all costs associated with implementing SB 1383 may be <br /> passed onto the rate payer. <br /> In fall 2021, City Staff will provide a final cost analysis to the City Council to consider <br /> setting new waste and recycling rates for SB 1383 related services and request that the <br /> City Council allocate the necessary City funding to cover SB 1383 implementation costs <br /> not allowable or desired by the City Council to be paid by the rate payers. <br /> Next Steps <br /> Staff working with the consulting firm HF&H will immediately begin working on <br /> implementing the SB 1383 Action Plan. In the late summer 2021 , an Ordinance will be <br /> brought forward to the Council to adopt in compliance with the requirements of SB 1383 <br /> and in the fall of 2021, a cost analysis will be brought forward to the City with <br /> recommendations on rate increases and other related funding recommendations as it <br /> pertains to the implementation of the law. <br /> Page 8 of 9 <br />
