ln response to Councilmember Balch's inquiry, Director of Operations and Water Utilities Yurchak <br />confirmed unsafe design of a playground element is also a factor. She advised it is part of the weekly <br />inspections. She noted they also have to maintain compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act <br />(ADA) and this can be a factor in a playground's repair and replacement timeline. <br />Mayor Brown noted there were no public speakers. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL - None <br />COUNCIL REPORTS <br />Councilmember Balch reported StopWaste adopted its budget, and that Household Hazardous Waste <br />Fees are being looked at as part of a property tax bill. <br />Councilmember Narum reported attendance at the Alameda County Transportation Commission on <br />behalf of Mayor Brown and attendance at the East Bay Community Energy board meeting. <br />Councilmember Arkin reported attendance at the Altamont Landfill Open Space Committee meeting <br />and the Livermore-Amador Valley Water Management Agency (LAVWMA) meeting. <br />Councilmember Testa reported attendance at the LAVWMA meeting and the waste recycling meeting <br />where SB 1383 was discussed. <br />Mayor Brown reported the Tri-Valley Mayors have also taken a collective stance against SB 9 and on <br />her attendance of the recent LAFCo meeting. <br />ADJOURNMENT- There being no further business, Councilmember Arkin adjourned the meeting at <br />11.20 p.m. with a tribute to men and women serving in the military, honoring the memories of those <br />who have died in defense of our country. <br />Respectfu lly submitted, <br />Karen Diaz <br />City Clerk <br />City Council Minutes Page 10 of 10 June 1,2021
