IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 501 <br /> <br /> AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 243 (PLANNING COMMISSION), <br /> PROVIDING FOR AUTOMATIC TERMINATION OF APPOINTMENT <br /> FOR ABSENCE FROM MEETINGS <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN <br />~S FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. Section 12-A is hereby added to Ordinance No. 243 <br />(Planning Commission), as amended, to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "SECTION 12-A. AUTOMATIC TERMINATION OF APPOINTMENT. <br /> <br /> (a) The appointment of any member of the Commis- <br /> sion who has been absent from four (4) regular meetings <br /> during the course of a six month period shall auto- <br /> matically terminate as hereinafter set forth° <br /> <br /> (b) The Secretary of the Commission shall report <br /> the attendance record of each member of said Commission <br /> to the City Manager at the end of each six (6) month <br /> period, the first report to be made on May 1, 1968, <br /> and to cover the period from November 1, 1967, through <br /> April 30, 1968. The appointment of any member who was <br /> absent from four (4) regular meetings as shown on said <br /> report shall be automatically suspended on the date <br /> said report is filed with the City Manager, pending <br /> final determination by the City Council° Such member <br /> shall be notified in writing that his appointment has <br /> been automatically suspended. <br /> <br /> (c) The City Council, upon receipt of the report <br /> transmitted through the City Managerts office, may <br /> declare such office vacant and must declare the same <br /> vacant unless a satisfactory reason is furnished <br /> justifying the failure of such member to attend said <br /> meeting. Said member shall be notified in writing as <br /> to the time and place of such personnel session so <br /> that he may attend if he wishes to do so. <br /> <br /> (d) If the City Council declares such office <br /> vacant, the City Manager shall notify such member that <br /> his appointment has been officially terminated. There- <br /> upon, the City Council shall appoint some qualified <br /> person to fill such vacancy for the unexpired term of <br /> such member. '~ <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in "THE <br />TIMES", a newspaper of general circulation published within the <br />City, and shall become effective thirty days after final passage <br />and adoption. <br /> <br /> - 1 - <br /> <br /> <br />
