Her letter says that she will have 25%retail but does not say what kind of retail. My concern would be that it might only be done to get her into the space and later closed "because of COVID." If that bait and switch is used does the City have a method of revoking her lease? If not, great care needs to be used in granting any exceptions. As a former retail merchant on Main St I am completely in support of firm rules about first floor retail on Main St.This interruption to our lives will not last forever and exceptions should not be made simply "because of COVID." Although I have been living full time on my farm in Kona since last March, I maintain a house downtown and fully intend to keep it. Pleasanton is a lovely town but the profusion of banks, nail salons and other non-retail on Main Street made it a challenge to do business. Requiring first floor retail is a huge step in the right direction.Thank you for your hard work in getting Main Street on track for the post COVID days.
