BACKGROUND
The MTC has established an application and funding formula for the distribution of TDA
funds. Applications or claims are reviewed by MTC and forwarded to the Alameda
County Board of Supervisors for consideration and approval.
The Alameda CTC has also established a funding formula for the distribution of
Measure B and Measure BB funds (dedicated sales tax) to provide special
transportation for seniors and persons with disabilities. Each eligible agency must
submit an application, including an eligibility statement, and an approved City Council
Resolution. Program plan applications are then forwarded to the Paratransit Advisory
Planning Committee for consideration and approval.
DISCUSSION
The total budgeted cost of the Pleasanton Rides Door-to-Door program is $640,781.
This program is funded through a combination of outside sources (77%) and the City's
General Fund (23%) as follows:
Funding Sources Amount
Outside Sources:
MTC — 4.5 TDA State Transit Funding $85,509
Measure B —Alameda County 1/2 cent Transportation Tax 92,985
Measure BB —Alameda County 1/2 cent Transportation Tax 306,384
Miscellaneous Revenues (fee assistance program) 5,443
Sub-total: $490,321
General Fund Contribution: 150,460
TOTAL: $640,781
The Pleasanton Rides Door-to-Door program continues to be the core service offered
through the Library and Recreation Department.
