CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> INVESTMENT ACTIVITY SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS <br /> AS OF MARCH 31, 2021 <br /> SUMMARY: <br /> Primary City Managed Investment Portfolio <br /> The City of Pleasanton General investment portfolio increased by $13,379,859 <br /> during the quarter from December 31, 2020 to March 31, 2021; from $195,451,635 on <br /> December 31, 2020 to $208,831,494 on March 31, 2021. The increase in the <br /> portfolio during the quarter ending March 31, 2021 was primarily due to investing <br /> the property tax installment that remained in the City's general bank account at <br /> December 31, 2020. For the quarter ending March 31, 2021, the fiscal year to <br /> date effective rate of return on the portfolio was 1.41 percent. The average days <br /> to maturity (ADM) increased from 733 days on December 31, 2020 to 1,190 days <br /> on March 31, 2021. <br /> As described in this report, the City's investment in the LAIF decreased to $40.0 <br /> million from $75.0 million mainly due to continued investment in individual <br /> securities. The quarterly LAIF interest rate was 0.44 percent with ADM of 220 <br /> days. <br /> During the quarter approximately $28.9 million in securities matured or were called, <br /> which the City either used to fund operating costs or reinvest into Agencies and <br /> Corporates at the market rate. The yields on the newly added investments ranged <br /> from 0.550 percent to 1.125 percent. As of March 31, 2021, approximately 57.28 <br /> percent of the total portfolio consisted of U.S Treasuries and agency securities, <br /> while the LAIF investment was 19.15 percent of the portfolio. Corporate notes <br /> accounted for 23.1 percent of theportfolio. <br /> • Fair Market Value of total portfolio- $209,249,382 <br /> • Effective rate of return - 1.41 percent <br /> • Weighted average days to maturity - 1,190 days <br /> • Fiscal year-to-date net interest earnings - $2,064,812 <br />
