CONTRACT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />AND THE <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> FOR <br /> ENHANCED INTERLIBRARY LOAN SERVICES <br /> <br />INTENT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the members of the Pleasanton City Council desire to provide support <br />for enhanced interlibrary loan services from the Alameda County Library, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the members of the Pleasanton City Council have authorized funding <br />in the amount of $92,927 for enhanced interlibrary loan services; therefore, <br /> <br />The City of Pleasanton agrees to provide $92,927 for enhanced interlibrary loan <br />services from the Alameda County Library system subject to the following terms and <br />conditions. <br /> <br />TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br /> <br />1) Effective Dates: This contract will be in effect from July 1,2000 to June 30, 2001. <br /> <br />2) Services Described: The County of Alameda agrees to provide enhanced <br /> interlibrary loan services to the Pleasanton Library consisting of: <br /> <br />Ability for Pleasanton Library patrons and staff to place holds directly on items <br />in the Alameda County Library collection through the Innovative Interfaces Inc. <br />automated system at workstations in the Pleasanton Library and through the <br />County Library's Website. (This service is contingent on the continuation in <br />fiscal year 2000-01 of a separate contract between the City and the County for <br />library automation services). <br /> <br />Access to items in the Alameda County Library collection for interlibrary loans <br />and holds placed directly as described above on the same basis as County <br />Library staff and patrons. This includes access to materials not normally <br />available on interlibrary loan to libraries outside the Alameda County Library <br />system such as newly published materials and audiovisual materials. <br /> <br />Delivery and pickup of interlibrary loans between the County Library and the <br />Pleasanton Library on a daily basis, Monday - Friday, except for County and <br />City-observed holidays. The City and County shall mutually agree on the time <br />of day for these deliveries and pickups. Should any unforeseen circumstance <br />arise which affects such deliveries, such as a vehicle emergency or natural <br />disaster, the County will provide the level of delivery service to the Pleasanton <br />Library that it does to its own branch libraries. <br /> <br /> <br />
