Authorized the City Manager to execute a purchase order with Folsom Lake Ford for the purchase <br />of seven Ford Police Utility Interceptors in the amount of $349,275.17, which includes a 15% <br />contingency; Authorized the City Manager to execute a purchase order with Lehr for the outfitting <br />of four regular patrol vehicles and three K9 patrol vehicles in the amount of $147,004.82, which <br />includes a 15% contingency <br />MOTION: It was m/s by Pentin/Brown to approve the Consent Calendar as submitted and as <br />noted. Public Comment <br />John Bauer declared the legacy of the departing Councilmembers will be its support of an excessively <br />dangerous Pleasanton Police Department. <br />Steve Van Dorn expressed his thanks on behalf of the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce for Mayor <br />Thorne and Councilmember Pentin's work to benefit and enhance local businesses through the <br />Chamber. Mr. Van Dorn presented Mayor Thorne a lifetime Chamber membership and Councilmember <br />Pentin a Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of the Chamber's Board of Directors. <br />Kim Beatty thanked Mayor Thorne for his work with Pleasanton Military families and genuine personal <br />support of Pleasanton's troops and veterans. <br />Mallory De Lauro thanked Mayor Thorne and Councilmember Pentin for their service to the City of <br />Pleasanton on behalf of Congressman Eric Swalwell. She read tribute Congressman Swalwell entered <br />into the Congressional Record to honor Mayor Thorne. <br />Alameda County Supervisor Nate Miley commended Mayor Thorne and Councilmember Pentin for their <br />service to Pleasanton and noted the Alameda County Board of Supervisors will be sending each a <br />Certificate of Commendation. <br />15. Legislative Update from Assemblywoman Rebecca Bauer -Kahan <br />Assemblywoman Bauer -Kahan thanked and commended Mayor Thorne and Councilmember Pentin for <br />their service. She began with relaying the anticipated news of Alameda County moving to purple status <br />with the previous week indicative of widespread COVID-19 cases, although she praised the City <br />Council for their work to inhibit the spread in Pleasanton. She offered further assistance of her office for <br />the citizens of Pleasanton and added the legislative focus is currently on COVID-19 related measures. <br />16. Legislative Update from Senator Steven Glazer <br />Senator Glazer expressed his appreciation for the partnership his office has received from the City of <br />Pleasanton, thanked Mayor Thorne for his service, and presented him a resolution expressing his <br />appreciation. He acknowledged while many communities like Pleasanton have done well, the state and <br />region are again in a bad spot relative to the COVID-19 spread.
