Plazas - Plazas shall be named for persons, events, or entities associated with major historical value or that have exerted positive influence in the development of Pleasanton. D. Other City-owned Public Facilities - Other City-owned Public Facilities shall be named under any of the criteria listed for Community Parks, Recreation Facilities, Neighborhood Parks, or Plazas. Section 4: Procedures for Establishing Permanent Names The Parks and Recreation Commission will hold a public hearing to select a proposed permanent name for any park, recreation facility, or plaza. The appropriate City commission (if applicable) will hold a public hearing to select a proposed permanent name for any other City-owned public facility. The public hearing will be held when: A. Requested to do so by the City Council; or B. By initiative of the appropriate City commission; or C. Upon request of the City Manager. After of the public hearing, the Parks and Recreation Commission (or the appropriate City commission) will submit its recommendation as to a name, along with all considered names, to the City Council for fmal consideration. The same criteria and procedures shall be used when considering requests to re- name a park, recreation facility, plaza or other City-owned public facility. Section 5: Naming Related to Donations (Donor Plan) The City Council may formally designate City projects for which naming rights related to donations may be considered. For each designated project, the City Council, in concert with the appropriate City commission, shall determine the levels of donations required for recognition, and the appropriate naming designation. Section 6: Alternate Methods of Honoring Individuals As an altemative to naming a park, recreation facility, plaza or other City-owned public facility, the City Council may select any of the following methods to honor an individual, group or entity: A. Issue a certificate of appreciation or recognition; or
