He noted Pleasanton has grown as a diverse community and believes
Pleasanton needs change that is appropriate for the community and does not feel a Police Commission
is required. He applauded the efforts of the City Council and PPD.
Jill Miller expressed support for PPD and its current efforts for building legitimacy and trust within the
community. She encouraged the use of an independent advisory board and cited an incident where one
would have been very helpful.
Valerie Arkin requested an outline of oversight by the City Council and requested clarification of how
regular reviews of police policies will take place.
