CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF PLEASANTON ~LAP.~.EDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDIN~.NCE NO. 547 AN ORDIN~./~CE AMENDING SECTION 17.105(a) OF ORDINANCE NO. 520, RELATING TO USE OF SIGNS IN "C" (COMMERCIAL) AND "I" (I~]DUSTRIAL) DISTRICTS THE CITY COUNCIL OF TttE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES }!EREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOIqS: Section 17.105(a) of Article 17, of Ordinance No. 520, relating to the permissibility of signs in "C" (Commercial) and "I" (Industrial) Districts, is hereby amended, said sub- section as amended to read as follows: 17.105 Signs in "C" and "I" Districts "(a) In a C-N district, business signs not exceeding one- half square foot for each foot of property line adjoin- ing a portion of the site occupied by uses to which the signs direct attention, provided that sinns not exceeding 40 sGuare feet shall be permitted on a site havin~ less than 80 feet of street property lj. ne, and provided that signs on the site of a service station shall not exceed a total of 80 square feet. Business signs shall be attached to a buildin~ except that one free-standing sign not exceedin~ 50 square feet or 12 feet in height shall be permitted on a site having at least three acres occupied by uses to which the signs direct attention. On the site of a service station, all signs shall be attached to a building, except that one free-standinn sign, not exceeding 36 square feet, which is included in the total sign area allowable for a service station, shall have direct or diffused illum- ination, and shall not exceed 12 feet in height."
