CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br /> June 16, 2020 <br /> This meeting was conducted in accordance with Governor Newsom's <br /> Executive Orders N-20-20 and N-35-20 and COVID-19 pandemic protocols. <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> Mayor Thorne called the special meeting of the City Council to order at the hour of 5:35 p.m. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Pentin, Testa, Mayor Thorne <br /> Absent: None <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT — None <br /> ADJOURN TO CLOSED SESSION FOR THE FOLLOWING: <br /> CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL — EXISTING LITIGATION pursuant Govt. Code <br /> §54956.9(a): <br /> • Workers Compensation Claimant— Brian Laurence (WCAB #ADJ10451448) <br /> • Workers Compensation Claimant—Jack Neiman-Kimel (WCAB #ADJ12907446) <br /> ADJOURNMENT — The special meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m. <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> Mayor Thorne called a teleconference regular meeting of the City Council to order at the hour of 7:05 <br /> p.m. Councilmember Brown led the Pledge of Allegiance and provided opening remarks. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Pentin, Testa, Mayor Thorne <br /> Absent: None <br /> CLOSED SESSION REPORT <br /> City Attorney Sodergren advised no reportable action was taken in closed session. <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Mayor Thorne opened the public hearing. <br /> Jim Conzen addressed City Council regarding Item 9 and advised there is a city-owned parcel next to his <br /> property that is not being maintained and encouraged Council to investigate. <br /> Mayor Thorne closed the public hearing. <br /> In response to Councilmember Brown's inquiry, Director of Engineering Steve Kirkpatrick confirmed the <br /> area is Bonde Ranch which is severely underfunded due to assessments not being increased since 1993. <br />
