Councilmember Narum questioned whether there would be support for staff to consider potential <br />exemptions for premium rolled pipe tobacco and hand rolled cigars in conjunction with the City of <br />Livermore. <br />Mayor Thorne commented that he would support consideration but may not support the exemption in the <br />end. <br />Councilmember Brown citied the loophole issues Livermore has encounter with the exemptions and said <br />she would not support staff working on this issue <br />Councilmember Testa commented that she wants the strictest laws and would not support the exemption. <br />Councilmember Pentin suggested that Pleasanton can grandfather in the premium tobacco stores with <br />the right language and no loopholes. <br />MOTION: It was m/s by Narum/Pentin to direct staff to work in conjunction with Livermore staff to consider <br />a carve out of premium hand rolled pipe tobacco and hand rolled cigars.
