IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $1,498,970 FOR A COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE PACKAGE FOR BODY WORN CAMERAS, CONDUCTED ENERGY DEVICES AND ELECTRONIC EVIDENCE STORAGE SUMMARY The Pleasanton Police Department is requesting approval to enter into an agreement with Axon Enterprise, Inc. to provide the police department with the most current technology in body worn camera, conducted energy devices (CEDs) and digital evidence storage. The agreement is a comprehensive service package that includes all hardware, operational and analytical software, training and electronic evidence storage. A report on the police department's policy for conducted energy devices and body worn cameras is also included. STAFF RECOMMENDATION 1. Approve the contract with Axon Enterprise, Inc. in the amount of $1,362,700 for the five-year contract. 2. Authorize the City Manager to approve and execute amendments to the agreement in the case of changes to the agency's needs, including but not limited to additional licenses and purchasing updated and new Axon products and services within a contingency amount not to exceed $136,270 (approximately 10 percent of the total 5 year agreement amount). 3. Accept report on conducted energy device and body worn camera policy. FINANCIAL STATEMENT The anticipated expenditure for this agreement is $1,362,700 over the five-year period and contingency funds not to exceed $136,270 (approximately 10 percent of the total 5 - year agreement) for a total of $1,498,970. Funds covering this agreement will be included in the police department annual operating budget.
