IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CiTY OF PLEASANTON <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. a$7 <br />AN O~DINAN~E~£d~ENDING ORDINANCE NO. <br />309 (ZONING ORDINANCE) PROVIDING <br />}'OR SIDEYARD, FRONT AND REAR YARD <br />SETBACKS IN ZONES FOR CONSTRUCTION <br />OF FALL-OUT AND BLAST SHELTERS. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Pleasanton does hereby <br /> <br />ordain as follows: <br /> <br />SZC~ION._i, ArTicle 18.700 of Ordinance No~ 309 (Exceptions <br /> <br />and Modifications of the Zoning Ordinance) adopted April 25, 1960, <br /> <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"18.700. Fa%lout .and Bla$~ she~.~er~. Subject to the <br /> <br />provisions below ~nd in the interest of civil defense, fallout <br /> <br />and blast shelters'are permitted as assessory uses in the R-1 <br /> <br />district~ and may be located as a conditional use in all oThe~ <br /> <br />districts~ <br /> <br />"18.710, Zonin~ regulations for ~he above-mentioned <br /> <br />districts shall not apply to such fallout and blast shelters; <br /> <br />and in lieu Thereof, the followinf provisions and conditions <br /> <br />shall be required: <br /> <br />All shelters constructed within the front yard <br />setback must be undergPound with no chan~e in the <br />existing grade. ~o setback is required for the <br /> <br />PrOtrusions from shelters constructed within the <br />fr~Dnt yard se%back must nalnta~n a 5 foot setback <br />aad may not protrude above 30 inches in height f~om <br />the existing ~rade. ~ <br /> <br />Shelters constructed within the rear yard may be <br />either above or below ground. An above ground <br />Shelter is one where the existin~ grade of the yard <br />is changed in any manner~ <br /> <br />d. Below ground shelters constructed within the ~eam <br /> ~ard ne~ not provide for setbacks for either the <br /> structura or protrusions therefrom. <br /> <br />eo ~boYe ~round shelters constructed within the rear <br /> yard must maintain a 5 foot setback for the structure. <br /> <br />f. ~t~usions from above ~round shelters constructed <br /> /~!%~in the rear yard may not protrude above ~ fe~t <br /> i'~i.~ei~ht from the existinR grade. <br /> <br /> <br />
