RESOLUTION NO. 20-1160 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, TO <br /> ADOPT RATES FOR SOLID WASTE, RECYCLABLE MATERIALS, AND ORGANIC <br /> MATERIALS COLLECTION SERVICES <br /> WHEREAS, on March 20, 2018 the City Council voted to approve and entered into a <br /> Franchise Agreement between the City of Pleasanton and Pleasanton Garbage Service Inc. for <br /> Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, and Organic Materials collection services; and <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 9.20.090 of the City of Pleasanton Municipal <br /> Code, rates for Franchise services shall be set by a resolution approved by the City Council of <br /> the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> WHEREAS, Pleasanton Garbage Service, Inc. shall conduct all billing related to <br /> collection, transportation, recycling and disposal of said Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, and <br /> Organic Materials in strict accordance with rates listed in this Resolutions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Franchise Agreement Section 8.3 requires an Index-Based Rate <br /> Adjustment for Rate Period Three and an application by Pleasanton Garbage Service of was <br /> submitted and approved as compliant with the methodology required under the Franchise <br /> Agreement; and <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with the Index-Based Rate Adjustment methodology the rate <br /> increase for Rate Period 3 is 1.7%. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1: The fee schedule set forth in Resolution No. 19-1090 is hereby rescinded. <br /> SECTION 2: The rates for the collection, transport, and disposal of Solid Waste, <br /> Recyclable Materials, and Organic Materials from the City of Pleasanton for Commercial/Multi- <br /> Family Services, Residential Services and for Transfer Stations Services, are revised as of July <br /> 1, 2020 as outlined in Exhibit A. <br /> SECTION 3: Rates will go into effect on July 1, 2020. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on June 16, 2020. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 16th of June 2020, <br /> by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Pentin, Testa, Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None <br />
