This work <br /> consists of crack sealing and/or pavement repair, as necessary. Crack sealing involves <br /> cleaning the pavement cracks in preparation for applying a joint sealant and smoothing <br /> the applied sealant so that the material is flush with the existing asphalt concrete <br /> surface. Pavement repair involves removing 4 to 6 inches of the existing pavement <br /> section down to the roadway aggregate base material and replacing it with new asphalt <br /> concrete with the same thickness that was removed.
