City of Pleasanton <br /> <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />The Pleasanton City Council will hold a virtual public hearing on May 19, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. The <br />purpose of the public hearing is to review and receive comments from the City Council and the public <br />regarding the submission of the FY 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and FY 2019-2020 Annual Action <br />Plan for the City of Pleasanton’s federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) activity to the <br />U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). <br /> <br />The Proposed FY 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan, which will update the existing FY 2015-2019 <br />Consolidated Plan, identifies the City’s housing and community development needs and the strategies <br />to address these needs using CDBG funds. The Proposed FY 2020-2021 Annual Action Plan describes <br />the projects to be funded with CDBG funds in the 2020-2021 fiscal year in order to implement the <br />Consolidated Plan housing and community development strategies. <br /> <br />The City has been awarded $342,214 in CDBG funds for fiscal year 2020-2021 covering July 1, 2020 <br />through June 30, 2021. These funds will be used to carry out the housing and community development <br />activities in the Annual Action Plan. <br /> <br />Public Review <br />Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, HUD has provided a waiver for the CDBG program and the Consolidated <br />Plan requirements for public review. HUD has approved the City’s waiver request to shorten the public <br />comment period from 30 days to 5 days and to allow the virtual meetings in lieu of in-person public <br />hearings in order to comply with national and local social gathering restrictions. <br /> <br />The 5-day comment period will begin on May 11, 2020 and will end on May 15, 2020 at 5pm. <br /> <br />The Draft FY 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and FY 2020-2021 Annual Action Plan is available for review <br />on the City’s website at: <br /> <br />Comments or inquiries may be submitted to Steve Hernandez, Housing Manager, at (925) 931-5007, or by <br />e-mail to <br /> <br /> <br />DATED: May 5, 2020 <br /> <br />_______________________ <br />Karen Diaz, City Clerk <br /> On March 3, 2020 Governor Newsom proclaimed a State of Emergency as a result of the COVID-19 <br />pandemic and subsequently issued Executive Order N-29-20 suspending provisions of the Brown <br />Act allowing meetings via teleconferencing and members of the public to observe and offer <br />comments telephonically or electronically.
