THE CITY OF <br /> LAsAThb . <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> INVESTMENT ACTIVITY SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS <br /> AS OF MARCH 31, 2020 <br /> SUMMARY: <br /> Primary City Managed Investment Portfolio <br /> The City of Pleasanton General investment portfolio increased by $4,300,981 <br /> during the quarter December 31,2019 to March 31, 2020, from $211,050,110 on <br /> December 31, 2019 to $215,351,091 on March 31, 2020. The increase in the <br /> portfolio during the quarter March 31, 2020, resulted from investing the property <br /> tax installment that remained in the City's general bank account at December 31, <br /> 2019. For the quarter ending March 31, 2020, the fiscal year to date effective rate <br /> of return on the portfolio was 2.46%. The average days to maturity (ADM) <br /> increased from 946 days on December 31, 2019 to 1,103 days on March 31, 2020. <br /> As described in this report, the City's investment in the LAIF decreased to $28.0 <br /> million from $36.0 million mainly due to continued investment in individual <br /> securities. The quarterly LAIF interest rate was 2.03% with ADM of 208 days. <br /> During the quarter approximately $58.9 million in securities matured or were called, <br /> which the City either used to fund operating costs or reinvest into Agencies and <br /> Corporates at the market rate. The yields on the newly added investments ranged <br /> from 1.10% to 2.85%. As of March 31, 2020, approximately 63.4% of the total <br /> portfolio consisted of U.S Treasuries and agency securities, while the LAIF <br /> investment was 13.0% of the portfolio. Corporate notes accounted for 23.1% of the <br /> portfolio. <br /> • Fair Market Value of total portfolio - $215,351,091 <br /> • Effective rate of return —2.42% <br /> • Weighted average days to maturity— 1,103 days <br /> • Fiscal year-to-date net interest earnings— $3,696,875 <br />
