immitexeriHE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT 9 <br /> pLEASANTON <br /> April 21. 2020 <br /> March 17, 2020 <br /> Human Resources <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROPOSED MEMORANDUM <br /> OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AND <br /> THE PLEASANTON POLICE OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION WITH TERM <br /> ENDING MAY 31, 2023 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Pleasanton and the <br /> Pleasanton Police Officers' Association (PPOA) expires on May 31, 2020. <br /> Representatives from PPOA and the City of Pleasanton met and conferred in good faith <br /> and have agreed to a successor agreement. The City's practice is to introduce the key <br /> elements of the proposed MOU, receive input from the public and allow for open <br /> discussion prior to adopting the agreement at the next public meeting. This public input <br /> process was conducted at the March 3, 2020 meeting. The final step is for the City <br /> Council to approve the successor agreement that expires May 31, 2023. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council adopt a resolution approving the tentative agreement negotiated <br /> between the City of Pleasanton and the PPOA. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The financial impact to the City budget as a result of implementing the successor <br /> Memorandum of Understanding is approximately $2.875M through FY 2022/23.
