ATTACHMENT 1 RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON CONFIRMING THE ORDER OF THE DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY SERVICES WAIVING FINES, PENALTIES AND INTEREST PAYMENTS FOR FAILURE TO PAY TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX, WATER SERVICE FEES, AND SEWER USER CHARGES AND SUSPENDING REQUIRED SECURITY DEPOSITS FOR WATER AND SEWER SERVICE BECAUSE OF THE COVID-19 NATIONAL, STATE, AND LOCAL EMERGENCY WHEREAS, under the authority contained in California Government Code section 8634 and Chapter 2.44 of the PMC, the Director of Emergency Services is empowered upon the proclamation of a local emergency to make and issue orders and regulations on matters reasonable related to the protection of life and property as affected by such local emergency. These orders and regulations are to be confirmed by the City Council at the earliest practicable time; and WHEREAS, on April 10, 2020, the City Manager, acting as the Director of Emergency Services, issued the attached order waiving certain fines, penalties and interest payments and suspending certain required security deposits because of the COVID-19 national, state, and local emergency ("Order"). NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1. That the Order issued by the Directory of Emergency Services on April 10, 2020, is hereby ratified and confirmed. SECTION 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. SECTION 3. City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a special meeting held on April 15, 2020.
