THE CITY OF <br /> - _ , : <br /> „ I <br /> °'°' -1'1 ' 'ii CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON <br /> March 23, 2020 <br /> City Manager <br /> City Attorney <br /> TITLE: APPROVE A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE CITY MANAGER / <br /> DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY SERVICES' PROCLAMATION OF THE <br /> EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY <br /> SUMMARY <br /> This item is to confirm the March 17, 2020 Proclamation of the Existence of a Local <br /> Emergency by the City Manager, acting as Director of Emergency Services pursuant to <br /> Municipal Code Chapter 2.44. As the City Council was not in session when the local <br /> emergency was initially proclaimed, the Municipal Code requires that the City Council <br /> confirm the existence of the local emergency for COVID-19. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> It is recommended that the City Council ratify and confirm the "Proclamation of the <br /> Existence of a Local Emergency", as issued by the Directory of Emergency Services / <br /> City Manager, on March 17, 2020. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The proclamation of a local emergency empowers the City Manager, as Director of <br /> Emergency Services, to purchase supplies, equipment, and services necessary to <br /> respond to the emergency. (See PMC section 2.44.090.) While extra sanitation supplies <br /> and cleaning services have been purchased, other costs are not fully known at this time. <br />
