PROPOSED PROJECT
The subject restaurant is newly opened in downtown and serves South American Guyanese
cuisine. It currently operates from Tuesdays to Sundays between 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for
lunch and 5:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for dinner, and is closed on Mondays. Through this CUP
application the applicant requests to serve alcohol until 1 a.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
Limited food items are proposed after 9:30 p.m. until closing, which includes fourstandard
menu items and three-to-four rotating specialty menu items (see Exhibit B for the full menu).
For the regular shift (11 :15 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.) and extended shift (9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.) the
restaurant will have approximately eight (8) staff members. The last call to order alcohol will be
around midnight, with food being available to the public till closure of the facility at 1 a.m.
Low-level background music would be played through ceiling-mounted speakers until 1 a.m.
inside and until 9 p.m. outside in the front outdoor dining area. The restaurant provides seating
for 50 occupants inside and 10 occupants outside in the front outdoor dining area. The outdoor
dining area will be closed by 10 p.m., as required by the PMC for outdoor dining areas located
within the public-right-of-way. There are no exterior or interior improvements proposed as part
of this application.
