CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 6 35 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 6 OF CHAPTER 1 OF TITLE I <br /> OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON REGARDING <br /> THE NAME OF THE RECREATION AND PARK COMMISSION <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Article 6 of Chapter 1, Title I is amended so as to change the <br />title thereof from Recreation and Park Commission to Park and <br />Recreation Commission <br /> <br />Section 1-3.23 of Article 6 of Chapter 1, Title I of the Ordinance% <br />Code of the City of Pleasanton, is hereby amended so as to provide <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> '~Section 1-3.23 Creation <br /> There is hereby created a Park and ~ecreation <br /> Commission consisting of five members, both <br /> men and women. The Park and Recreation <br /> Commission members shall be appointed by the <br /> City Council." <br /> <br /> III <br />Section 1-3.28 of Article 6 of Chapter 1, Title I is hereby <br />amended so as to provide as follows: <br /> <br /> "Section 1-3.28 Duties and Responsibilities of the Park and <br /> Recreation Commission. The duties of the Park <br /> and Recreation Commission shall be to: <br /> <br /> 1. Act in an advisory capacity to the City Council, the <br /> City Manager, and the Director of Parks and Recreation <br /> in all matters pertaining to public parks and recreation,~ <br /> and to cooperate with other governmental agencies and <br /> civic groups in the advancement of sound recreation <br /> programming and park planning The Park and Recreation <br /> Commission is jointly charged with the Planning CommissiOn, <br /> to establish harmonious and effective relationships, as <br /> both of these bodies have designated functions of an <br /> inter-related nature in the area of recreation facilities <br /> as they relate to the General Plan. <br /> <br /> 2. Formulate recommended policies regarding recreation ser- <br /> vices for consideration by the City Council. <br /> <br /> 3. Advise the City Council, the City Manager, and the Director <br /> of Parks and Recreation regarding the development of <br /> recreation areas, facilities, programs and services. <br /> <br /> <br />
