CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 6 35 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 6 OF CHAPTER 1 OF TITLE I OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON REGARDING THE NAME OF THE RECREATION AND PARK COMMISSION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Article 6 of Chapter 1, Title I is amended so as to change the title thereof from Recreation and Park Commission to Park and Recreation Commission Section 1-3.23 of Article 6 of Chapter 1, Title I of the Ordinance% Code of the City of Pleasanton, is hereby amended so as to provide as follows: '~Section 1-3.23 Creation There is hereby created a Park and ~ecreation Commission consisting of five members, both men and women. The Park and Recreation Commission members shall be appointed by the City Council." III Section 1-3.28 of Article 6 of Chapter 1, Title I is hereby amended so as to provide as follows: "Section 1-3.28 Duties and Responsibilities of the Park and Recreation Commission. The duties of the Park and Recreation Commission shall be to: 1. Act in an advisory capacity to the City Council, the City Manager, and the Director of Parks and Recreation in all matters pertaining to public parks and recreation,~ and to cooperate with other governmental agencies and civic groups in the advancement of sound recreation programming and park planning The Park and Recreation Commission is jointly charged with the Planning CommissiOn, to establish harmonious and effective relationships, as both of these bodies have designated functions of an inter-related nature in the area of recreation facilities as they relate to the General Plan. 2. Formulate recommended policies regarding recreation ser- vices for consideration by the City Council. 3. Advise the City Council, the City Manager, and the Director of Parks and Recreation regarding the development of recreation areas, facilities, programs and services.
