Attachment 12 <br /> From: Megan Mehta < <br /> Sent: Tuesday,January 21, 2020 2:30 PM <br /> To: Larissa Seto <br /> Cc: Connor Lam <br /> Subject: Supporting Ani-Vaping Actions For City Council <br /> Hello Assistant City Attorney, <br /> My name is Megan Mehta and I am in 11th grade at Amador Valley High School,as well as a member of Student Inter-School <br /> Action Council(SIAC).The Youth Commission has asked SIAC to share letters of support for proposed anti-vaping actions <br /> that the City Council will consider.I support restricting the sale of tobacco products within 1,000 feet of public schools,public <br /> parks,and public recreation facilities, updating the Municipal Code to prohibit persons under the age of 21 from the possession <br /> of tobacco products,and prohibiting the sale of e-cigarettes and related paraphernalia.I particularly support restricting the sale <br /> of of tobacco products within 1,0000 feet of public areas because it helps makes public spaces a safer area for <br /> everyone,especially children,elderly,and those with a compromised immune system and other medical concerns similar to <br /> mine.
