THE CITY OF <br />mut "mow 1111 <br />pLEASANTON. <br />MEETING SUMMARY <br />Location: Orloff Park, Pleasanton, CA <br />Date: October 5, 2019 <br />Project: Orloff Park Playground Renovations <br />Subject: Public Outreach Meeting <br />Attendees: City (Matthew Gruber, Brandon Stewart, Sarah Hosterman) <br />ATTACHMENT 3 <br />Below is a summary of the comments received from residents at the public outreach meeting for the <br />proposed playground renovations at Orloff Park held on Saturday October 5, 2019 from 9:00-11:00 am. <br />There were approximately 40 members of the public present at the event, with about 1/3 to 1/2 of the <br />participants being children. Concept boards showing the playground options and components were <br />presented during the event. Participants voted on their favorite playground components by placing stickers <br />on the boards. Below is a summary of comments heard and favorite aspects of the playground concepts. <br />The boards showing the voting results are also attached to the summary. <br />Subject <br />1. Remove the sandbox/litterbox from the play area for 5-12 year olds. <br />2. Keep the sandbox. <br />3. Provide speed limit signs and pathway lighting for the park. <br />4. Combine the elements into one playground for 2-12 year olds so all children can play together <br />and so that it is easier to supervise children in the different age groups. <br />5. Add a shade tree on the south side of the play area for 2-5 year olds. <br />6. Add a xylophone or some other musical component to the play equipment. <br />7. Add adult exercise equipment to the, or next to, the play equipment for 2-5 year olds. <br />8. Add a regulatory sign that states that adult fitness classes cannot use the playgrounds. There are <br />a number of CrossFit type classes that use the playgrounds currently. <br />9. Children in the neighborhood like that the play equipment for 2-5 year olds is a different color <br />than the play equipment for 5-12 year olds. The playgrounds are known as the `orange' and the <br />`blue' playground. <br />10. The more colors for the playground, the better. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT P. O.
