THE CITY OF 6 <br /> - -"' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON <br /> December 3, 2019 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: APPROVE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, REVIEW BIDS, AND AWARD <br /> CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO SUAREZ & MUNOZ CONSTRUCTION, <br /> INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $334,695 FOR THE CENTENNIAL PARK BOCCE <br /> BALL COURT RENOVATION, CIP NO. 20764 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Plans for the Centennial Park Bocce Ball Court Renovation, CIP No. 20764, were <br /> completed and advertised for construction bid in October 2019. Five bids were received <br /> by the advertised bid deadline of 2 p.m. on November 14, 2019. Bids ranged from a low <br /> of $334,695 to a high of $374,355. Staff is recommending the contract be awarded to <br /> Suarez & Munoz Construction, Inc (SMC) for the low bid amount of $334,695. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1 . Approve plans and specifications for this project. <br /> 2. Review bids and award the construction contract to SMC for the low bid amount of <br /> $334,695. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the project contract. <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Engineering to approve and execute any required contract <br /> change order(s) for up to a not-to-exceed amount of$35,000 (approximately 10 <br /> percent of the construction contract) for unforeseen yet necessary related work. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for this project is included in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget, <br /> CIP No. 20764. The anticipated total expenditure for this project is $370,466. See <br /> Attachment 2 for a summary of funding and anticipated expenditures. <br />
