Exhibit 2 <br />Chapter 20.04 <br />PLEASANTON BUILDING ADMINISTRATIVE CODE <br />Sections: <br />20.04.210 Time limitation of application amended. <br />20.04.220 Permit Expiration amended. <br />20.04.350 Required building inspections amended. <br />To conform with requirements in AB2913, Section 20.04.210 is amended to read as follows: <br />20.04.210 Time Limitation of Application. An application for a permit for any proposed work <br />that did not require a plan review shall be deemed to have been abandoned �9 days after <br />the date of filing, unless such application has been pursued in good faith or a permit has been <br />issued; except that the Building and Safety Official is authorized to grant one or more extensions <br />of time for an additional period not exceeding 180 days. The extension shall be requested in <br />writing and justifiable cause demonstrated. An application shall not be extended if this code or <br />any other pertinent laws or ordinances have been amended subsequent to the date of application. <br />To conform with requirements in AB2913, Section 20.04.220 is amended to read as follows: <br />20.04.280 Permit expiration. Every permit issued shall become invalid unless the work <br />authorized by such permit is commenced within a-89 360 days after its issuance. The permit will <br />become invalid if the work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of <br />180 days following an approval given by the Building and Safety Official for a required inspection, <br />as enumerated in Section 20.04.350 of this code. The Building and Safety Official is authorized <br />to grant, in writing, one or more extension of time, for a period not more than 180 days. The <br />extension shall be requested in writing and justifiable cause demonstrated. <br />If the permit has expired, before such work can be recommenced, a new permit shall be first <br />obtained to do so, and the fee therefor shall be one-half the amount required for a new permit for <br />such work, provided no changes have been made or will be made in the original plans and <br />specifications for such work, and provided further that such suspension or abandonment has not <br />exceeded one year. In order to renew action on a permit after expiration, the permittee shall pay <br />a new full permit fee. <br />Any permittee holding an unexpired permit may apply for an extension of the time within which <br />work may commence under that permit when the permittee is unable to commence work within <br />the time required by this section for good and satisfactory reasons. The Building and Safety <br />Official may extend the time for action by the permittee for a period not exceeding 180 days on <br />written request by the permittee showing that circumstances beyond the control of the permittee <br />have prevented action from being taken. <br />To conform with requirements in SB721, Section 20.04.350 is amended to read as follows: <br />20.04.350 Required building inspections. Reinforcing steel or structural framework of any part <br />of a building or structure or any plumbing, mechanical or electrical components shall not be <br />covered or concealed without first obtaining the approval of the Building and Safety Official. <br />Protection of joints and penetrations in fire- resistive assemblies shall not be concealed from view <br />until inspected and approved. <br />The Building and Safety Official shall require notification from the permit holder in order to make <br />the following inspections: <br />Page 7 of 52 <br />
