Exhibit 2 Chapter 20.04 PLEASANTON BUILDING ADMINISTRATIVE CODE Sections: 20.04.210 Time limitation of application amended. 20.04.220 Permit Expiration amended. 20.04.350 Required building inspections amended. To conform with requirements in AB2913, Section 20.04.210 is amended to read as follows: 20.04.210 Time Limitation of Application. An application for a permit for any proposed work that did not require a plan review shall be deemed to have been abandoned �9 days after the date of filing, unless such application has been pursued in good faith or a permit has been issued; except that the Building and Safety Official is authorized to grant one or more extensions of time for an additional period not exceeding 180 days. The extension shall be requested in writing and justifiable cause demonstrated. An application shall not be extended if this code or any other pertinent laws or ordinances have been amended subsequent to the date of application. To conform with requirements in AB2913, Section 20.04.220 is amended to read as follows: 20.04.280 Permit expiration. Every permit issued shall become invalid unless the work authorized by such permit is commenced within a-89 360 days after its issuance. The permit will become invalid if the work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days following an approval given by the Building and Safety Official for a required inspection, as enumerated in Section 20.04.350 of this code. The Building and Safety Official is authorized to grant, in writing, one or more extension of time, for a period not more than 180 days. The extension shall be requested in writing and justifiable cause demonstrated. If the permit has expired, before such work can be recommenced, a new permit shall be first obtained to do so, and the fee therefor shall be one-half the amount required for a new permit for such work, provided no changes have been made or will be made in the original plans and specifications for such work, and provided further that such suspension or abandonment has not exceeded one year. In order to renew action on a permit after expiration, the permittee shall pay a new full permit fee. Any permittee holding an unexpired permit may apply for an extension of the time within which work may commence under that permit when the permittee is unable to commence work within the time required by this section for good and satisfactory reasons. The Building and Safety Official may extend the time for action by the permittee for a period not exceeding 180 days on written request by the permittee showing that circumstances beyond the control of the permittee have prevented action from being taken. To conform with requirements in SB721, Section 20.04.350 is amended to read as follows: 20.04.350 Required building inspections. Reinforcing steel or structural framework of any part of a building or structure or any plumbing, mechanical or electrical components shall not be covered or concealed without first obtaining the approval of the Building and Safety Official. Protection of joints and penetrations in fire- resistive assemblies shall not be concealed from view until inspected and approved.
