FOR LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY SERVICES AND <br />APPROVE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH TRI -VALLEY <br />CITIES OF DUBLIN, LIVERMORE, SAN RAMON AND TOWN OF <br />DANVILLE <br />SUMMARY <br />The City of Pleasanton in collaboration with the Tri -Valley Cities of Dublin, Livermore, <br />San Ramon and Town of Danville are seeking to retain legislative advocacy services to <br />implement the Tri -Valley Cities Legislative Framework (Attachment 1). <br />Legislative advocacy services will assist the Tri -Valley Cities toward building consensus <br />and a united approach to legislative advocacy for solutions that will serve the residents <br />and businesses of the Tri -Valley. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the City Council approve the Professional Services Agreement <br />with Townsend Public Affairs, Inc. (Attachment 2) and to approve the Memorandum of <br />Understanding (MOU) with the Tri -Valley Cities of Dublin, Livermore, San Ramon, and <br />Town of Danville to equally share the expenses related to the Agreement (Attachment <br />3). <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />The proposed Professional Services Agreement with Townsend Public Affairs, Inc. is in <br />the amount not to exceed $120,000 annually. As outlined in the MOU (Attachment 3), <br />the City's portion of the legislative advocacy services will not exceed $24,000 annually. <br />Funding is included in account number 00199100-430101 as part of the FY 2019/20 <br />Operating Budget. <br />
