THE CITY OF 41 <br />pL��S�NTON� CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />1 <br />September 17, 2019 <br />City Manager <br />TITLE: ACCEPT GIFT TO CITY FOR ITS LIBRARY AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A GIFT AGREEMENT WITH WORKDAY, INC. <br />SUMMARY <br />Workday Inc. and Workday Foundation ("Workday") would like to contribute a combined <br />$500,000 to the City's Library Fund. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the City Council accept the gift to the City for its Library and <br />authorize the City Manager to enter into a Gift Agreement with Workday, Inc. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />This will result in a $500,000 contribution to the City's Library Fund. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Workday has generously offered to contribute a combined $500,000 to the City's Library <br />Fund (See attached letter from Aneel Bhusri, Chief Executive Officer, Workday, Inc.). <br />DISCUSSION <br />The terms of the gift are outlined in the attached Gift Agreement. The gift will be used <br />to support the design and construction of a new City Library or an expansion and/or <br />remodel of the existing City Library.
