Renewable Energy for City Meters ($50K):
- Powering City meters with renewable sources (e.g., small solar panels).
Grant opportunities ($100K):
- Seeking external funding for the LDBP.
EBCE also has a tentative budget for the 2020 fiscal year. The agency has plans to
spend smaller amounts on a wide range of projects, with the exception of their
Transportation Electrification Program, in order to gauge the effectiveness of different
local development programs in Alameda County. EBCE will invest $2 million into their
Transportation Electrification program in FY20 and hopes to obtain an additional $900K
in grant funding. Other programs include Building Electrification ($675k), Demand
Response ($150K), Energy Efficiency ($100K), Collaborative Procurement ($600K),
Enhanced Net Energy Metering ($350), and the EBCE Community Investment Grant
Fund ($600K) (Table 7).
Table 7 — EBCE's 2020 LDBP Program Areas
Transportation Electrification ($2,000,000):
According to the California Air Resources Board (GARB), transportation accounts for
41 % of California's GHG emissions by economic sector. This represents the most
significant source of emissions and needs to be addressed if California wants to
continue their GHG reductions. As a result, the state wants to have 1.5 million zero -
emission vehicles on the roads of California by 2025, and 5 million by 2030.
2020 Proposed
°I° of
2018 Approved
Program Areas
(5000)
Budget
(S000)
Demand Response
S
(150)
3 30%
$
(100)
Energy Efficiency
S
(100)
2 20%
$
(100)
Building Electrification
5
(675)
14 87%
$
(50)
Vehicle Electrification
S
(2.000)
44 05%
$
(500)
Collaborative Procurement
5
(600)
13 22°o
S
(699)
Enhanced NEM
5
(350)
7.71 °o
$
(105)
Community Investment Fund
S
(600)
13.22°°
$
(450)
SponsorshipsEvents
S
f65}
S
(4.540)
$
(2.004)
Revenue
B,",AQ P1 D
S
150
Grants and LCFS Credits
S
750
LDBP Operating Funds
S
i 3.6x0)
Table 7 — EBCE's 2020 LDBP Program Areas
Transportation Electrification ($2,000,000):
According to the California Air Resources Board (GARB), transportation accounts for
41 % of California's GHG emissions by economic sector.
