• Geology and Soils • Transportation
• Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Energy • Utilities and Service Systems
• Hazards, Hazardous Materials, and
Wildfire
Based on preliminary review, impacts in certain areas, including Agricultural Resources,
Mineral Resources, and Population and Housing are not expected to result in environmental
impacts and are therefore proposed to be addressed to a lesser degree of detail in the EIR.
Alternatives
According to State law, an EIR shall describe a range of reasonable alternatives to the project,
or to the location of the project, which would feasibly attain most of the basic objectives of the
project but would avoid or substantially lessen any of the significant effects of the project. The
"no project" alternative is also required to be evaluated. In this case, the "no project" alternative
would not allow future development of the area within the City of Pleasanton and development
of the unincorporated project area would occur under the County's zoning.
CEQA Process and Schedule
The environmental review process and proposed tentative schedule is as follows:
1. Circulate Notice of Preparation to Agencies and Interested Parties: Published
August 22, 2019; comment period to extend through September 23, 2019;
2. Conduct EIR Scoping Session: September 11, 2019;
3. Release Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) Preparation: January 2020
(estimated);
4. 45-Day Circulation of DEIR for Public Comments —Mid-January 2020 through late
February 2020 (estimated);
5. Release Final EIR and Response to Comments (FEIR) —May 2020 (estimated); and
6. Public Hearings to consider Certification of the FEIR —to be determined.
PUBLIC NOTICE AND COMMENTS
Notices of this item were sent to responsible and trustee agencies, nearby cities, the
Pleasanton Unified School District, newspaper publications, and property owners within 1,000
feet of the project site.
Primary Author:
Natalie Amos, Associate Planner, 925-931-5613 or namos(acityofpleasantonca.gov
Reviewed/Approved By:
Steve Otto, Senior Planner
Ellen Clark, Planning Manager
PUD-130/TRACT 8472/P18-0078/P18-0079/P18-0080/P18-0081 Planning Commission
10807, 11021, and 11033 Dublin Canyon Road and the parcel west of 11021 Dublin Canyon Road
11 of 11
vironmental Topics to be Addressed
The following areas of potential environmental impacts have been identified by staff and the EIR
consultant, for which detailed analysis is recommended to be included in the EIR.
