RESOLUTION NO. 19-1105 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ESTABLISHING A PILOT PROGRAM TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF PICKUPS ALLOWED PER WEEK FOR COMMERCIAL AND MULTI-FAMILY GARBAGE SERVICE AND APPROVING RATES FOR THE PILOT PROGRAM WHEREAS, on March 20, 2018 the City Council voted to approve and entered into a Franchise Agreement between the City of Pleasanton and Pleasanton Garbage Service Inc. for Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, and Organic Materials collection services; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 9.20.090 of the City of Pleasanton Municipal Code, rates for franchise services shall be set by a resolution approved by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton; and WHEREAS, the Franchise Agreement Section 8.2 A. requires that PGS inform the City of a need for a rate that does not appear of the approved Rate Schedule; and WHEREAS, PGS requested establishing a pilot program and rates for commercial and multi-family garbage service that would add frequency to number of pickups allowed per week; and WHEREAS, PGS shall conduct all billing related to collection, transportation, recycling and disposal of said solid waste, recyclable materials, and organic materials in strict accordance with rates listed in this resolution. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1. The pilot program to increase the number of pickups allowed per week for commercial and multi-family garbage service is established. SECTION 2. The rates for the pilot program for the collection, transport, and disposal of solid waste, recyclable materials, and organic materials from the City of Pleasanton for commercial and multi-family garbage services are established as of August 20, 2019 as outlined in Exhibit A. SECTION 3. Rates will go into effect September 1, 2019. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a regular meeting held on August 20, 2019.
