THE CITY OF <br /> F�i' I�I�-�•1 <br /> pLEASANTON, <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> INVESTMENT ACTIVITY SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS <br /> AS OF JUNE 30, 2019 <br /> SUMMARY: <br /> Primary City Managed Investment Portfolio <br /> The City of Pleasanton investment portfolio increased by $16,698,613 from the <br /> General investment portfolio during the last quarter of FY 2018-19. The General <br /> portfolio increased from $198,579,757 on March 31, 2019 to $215,278,370 on <br /> June 30, 2019 reflecting the first installment of Property Tax payment received in <br /> April 2019. For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019, the effective rate of return on <br /> the portfolio was 1.93%. The average days to maturity (ADM) increased from 532 <br /> days on March 31, 2019 to 744 days on June 30, 2019. <br /> As described in this report, the City's investment in the Local Agency Investment <br /> Fund (LAIF) decreased to $25.5 million from $39.0 million mainly due to taking <br /> advantage of the longer-term agencies in order to increase ADM. The quarterly <br /> LAIF interest rate was 2.43% with ADM of 173 days. During the quarter <br /> approximately $24.1 million in securities matured or called and all of these were <br /> reinvested into Agencies and Corporates at the market rate. The yields on the <br /> newly added investments ranged from 2.22% to 2.78%. As of June 30, 2019 <br /> approximately 68.2% of the total portfolio consisted of U.S Treasuries and agency <br /> securities, while the LAIF investment was 11.85% of the portfolio. <br /> • Fair Market Value of total portfolio - $215,278,370 <br /> • Effective rate of return — 1.93% <br /> • Weighted average days to maturity — 744 days <br /> • Fiscal year-to-date net interest earnings — $3,687,328 <br />
