THE CITY OF 16 <br /> "'' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTONL <br /> June 18, 2019 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVE AGREEMENT WITH RUBICON LANDSCAPE IN THE AMOUNT <br /> OF $337,711 FOR TRASH AND RECYCLABLE COLLECTION SERVICES <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City has a total of 478 exterior trash and recyclable receptacles throughout City <br /> parks, trails, and facility landscapes. These receptacles are emptied once to twice per <br /> week depending on location by a contractor. The current agreement is set to expire on <br /> June 30, 2019. Therefore, a Request for Bid (RFB) was formally advertised in May 2019 <br /> for a new agreement for services. A total of three proposals were received for this project <br /> on May 23, 2019 and Rubicon Landscape was selected as the lowest qualified bidder. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a three-year maintenance service <br /> agreement with Rubicon Landscape for trash and recyclable collection services for a <br /> not-to-exceed amount of $337,711 with the option for two additional one-year <br /> extensions. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for trash and recyclable receptacles is allocated in the Parks Maintenance <br /> Division Operating Budget. The proposed agreement with Rubicon Landscape is for a <br /> not-to-exceed amount of $337,711. This amount includes a 10% contingency per year <br /> for unforeseen circumstances and related extra services as determined to be necessary <br /> by the City. <br />
